There is one Circle—the Shadle Circle—which meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 9:30am. There is a Presbyterian Women (PW) general business meeting following the Circle meeting in January, March, October, and December. There is a PW Board which sets the agenda for the PW mission work and fundraising. On the PW board is the Moderator, Secretary, Treasurer, Circle Leader & Coordinator of World Service; Interpretation; Involvement/Action; Historian; Hunger/Peacemaking. There is a nominating committee; funeral committee; serving/quilting groups and a meals on wheels coordinator.
The mission work consists of local events, community events, and worldwide events. The fundraisers help to fund the PW mission work. We belong to the Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery (PWP). We participate in the Birthday Offering and the Thank and Least Coin Offerings. These offerings are mailed to the PWP Treasurer and she in turn forwards them to appropriate committees where they are dispersed nationally and worldwide.
Many PW have been elders, deacons, liturgists, Sunday school teachers, ushers, and served wherever needed. Some have served another PWP. There is a PW church-wide gathering every three years which draws over 5000 women from around the world to different locations in the United States. The Presbyterian Women in the Synod (PWS) is a governing body a step up from the PWP.
The PW has been an organization for over 200 years and is still going strong.
